Star Trek 12 by Snazz84 Star Trek 12 by Snazz84
An idea I had for Star Trek 12.

SPPOIIIIILEEEERRRRS

Because I think Nero might still be alive at the end of the movie.

I think he'd dead, but that would be horrible if they re-used any more plot devices. Did you... did you just add a bunch of Lens Flares to a shot from Wrath of Khan? (Not that I'm complaining one bit here)

Yeah, I think he's probably dead now as well, but right after I watched the movie the first time I had my doubts. :)

I put the image together using a screenshot from the new movie. I just changed the second ship a little so it looked more like the Reliant from TWoK, made a nebula background and added the lens flares and phasers.

So, similar to what you thought, which is why it's just in my scraps folder. ;)

No, it will be Khan, it has to be Khan.

Klingons and KHAAAAN.

That's what people think when they think Star Trek villains.

I really liked JJ's Star Trek, but if its sequel is a remake of "Wrath of Khan" I'm going to puke. :ohnoes:

....................... In other news, your pic is awesome! :D

Thanks! :) Yeah, same here, I think they should do something totally original. Please, no more Klingons either!!

Well, you have to hand it to then, we did not actually SEE a single Klingon in the movie. Klingon ships, sure, but that was just the training sim.

Well wait... the script called for Klingons, when Nero and company were enslaved on Rura Penthe, between the time of the Kelvin, and Spock's arrival. Just before which, we were supposed to SEE the Klingon armada being destroyed by the Nerada. But, oh well, maybe it will be on the DVD version

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that scene will be on the DVDs, though with those masks on (that we saw in the trailers) we won't know exactly how they look. If they do turn up in a later movie they could be redesigned.

But I just think they should focus on something original, as much as possible. They've got a great opportunity to really explore the unknown, and the first movie's done so well, they don't need to use Khan or the Klingons as a crutch.

Yeah, thats true.

It is just very difficult to stay within the realm of Federation space, without running into Klingons. Kinda like how no matter where we went, in the 50's - 80's, there were always Russians involved somehow. This is probably exactly why we saw so much of the Klingons in Star Trek, because they were a metaphor for the Russians.

Since it is no longer a current issue, we should see less of them. They need something new to be an illustration of terrorism. Maybe Star Trek 12 could involve some fanatical alien (or internal) force, bent on destroying the idealistic Federation through terrorism. Would definitely follow the idea of Star Trek being a metaphor of the times we live in, and be different than what we have seen before.

Its just a thoguht
