The craft is a Type-9A cargo shuttle designed by Rick Sternbach. I called this one the Nile. The USS Cairo was referenced in an episode of DS9, having presumably been destroyed by Dominion forces.

Very nice. And you're right, the Cairo was mentioned in DS9 as being destroyed as Dax was mentioning her friend Captain Leslie Wong. However, in TNG the Cairo was commanded by Captain Edward Jellico who temporarily took command over the Enterprise. 
Anyway, enough geek facts for the evening, I love the scene setup and mood. Reminds me of "DS9 The Fallen" if anyone still remembers that game.
